What would you do if you were the 16th indoor playground to enter a market where 15 others are already packed within a 30-minute drive? In a South Asian city, two Indian investors with no industry experience offered a different answer. They built a 1,000㎡ venue — 400㎡ of which is a Pokiddo-designed children‘s playground, with the remaining space turned into a barbershop, a nail salon, a private cinema for friends, and a social café for parents.
This is not just a children’s playground. It is a small-scale commercial complex designed to meet the needs of local high-end families in one stop. Children have a place to play. Mothers can get manicures. Fathers can drink coffee and socialize. Friends can watch movies together.
By combining these different business types, they gave every family member a reason to come.
This article tells the story of this project: from hesitation to trust, from design to delivery. It shows how a small yet well-designed playground helped a whole complex find its blue ocean in a sea of competitors.
〖1,000㎡, Fits the Joy of a Whole Family〗 A commercial complex differentiates itself from 15 competitors.
Project Name: Client‘s own brand family playground
Project Type: Family Playground
Playground Area: 400㎡
Total Complex Area: Approximately 1,000㎡
Ceiling Height: 6.5 meters
Core Facilities: Interactive water play zone, children‘s go-kart track, 360-degree bike, soft play castle, building block tables, high ropes course, climbing wall, plum blossom poles
Location: South Asia

The project is located in a standalone building in a South Asian city. The location is excellent, but the challenge is equally significant — within a 30-minute drive, there are already over 15 indoor playgrounds.
The clients were newcomers to the industry. Facing such fierce competition, they hesitated: with so many playgrounds already in the area, is there still room for another one?
But they made a bolder decision: not just a playground, but a mini commercial complex that can serve the whole family.
Children can burn off energy in the playground. Mothers can get together with friends for manicures and movies. Fathers can socialize in the coffee bar. Everyone has their own place.
They first looked at local equipment suppliers, but always felt something was missing. Later, through Pokiddo‘s local agent in South Asia, they learned about our global project cases (Spain, Kuwait, Myanmar, etc.) and decided to fly to Wenzhou to visit Pokiddo’s factory in person.
In Wenzhou, they spent two days visiting and experiencing several of Pokiddo‘s operational venues. From equipment quality to operational logic, from design concepts to implementation details — seeing everything with their own eyes gave them the confidence they needed.

With 15 competitors in the area, the Pokiddo design team’s core strategy was clear: do not compete on price. Compete on being “different.”
Two Days of Immersive Experience + Multiple Rounds of Design Adjustments
During the clients‘ visit to Wenzhou, we not only showed them the factory but also had them test, experience, and provide feedback at our operational venues. The design plan was repeatedly adjusted based on their hands-on experience. The final 400㎡ space uses vertical zoning to cover multiple age groups.
A 30% Increase in Capacity
Through clever use of space — building a second level above the water play zone and embedding a go-kart track under the main play structure — the actual play capacity was increased by 30%.

Ages 3–6: Interactive water play zone, themed playhouse. 90% of local playgrounds do not have water play facilities — this is a unique selling point.
Ages 7–12: 360-degree bike, ninja obstacle course, climbing wall, soft play castle. These challenge-based attractions go beyond the single type of play found in traditional playgrounds.
- For Mothers: Nail salon, private cinema for friends. Mothers no longer have to “just wait around”; they have their own space to relax.
- For Fathers: Social coffee bar, lounge area. Fathers can drink coffee, chat, or even work.
- For the Whole Family: A barbershop. Children can get a haircut after playing — a one-stop solution.
Why This Configuration?
- The Water Play Zone Attracts Younger Children: The local climate is hot, so water-based attractions naturally appeal to families. Since 90% of competitors do not offer this, it becomes a strong reason for families to choose this venue.
- Challenge-Based Attractions Retain Older Children: Attractions like the 360-degree bike, ninja obstacle course, and soft play castle encourage children to return again and again to challenge themselves.

Due to the long distance, the installation was completed by the client‘s local team under the remote guidance of Pokiddo’s professional engineers. This model reduced project costs and also enhanced the client‘s own understanding of the equipment.

This project demonstrates a successful business model for investors entering a saturated market: using a multifunctional “mini complex” to meet the needs of all family members.
For a 400㎡ children‘s playground, this scale is not large. But by integrating other businesses, the entire 1,000㎡ venue created four consumption scenarios (children’s play, mothers‘ beauty and leisure, fathers’ socializing, family grooming). This is not a zero-sum game of competing with the 15 other playgrounds nearby for the same customer base. Instead, the venue creates new demand, allowing the whole complex to outperform the competition.
The success of this project once again validates Pokiddo‘s core philosophy: “In Pokiddo, we not only master production, but also operations, and most importantly — profitability.”
