In Xining, China, as families' demand for child growth-oriented entertainment rises, themed play spaces designed specifically for children aged 3-15 have become a new favorite in the market. This project, designed by POKIDDO, leverages the advantages of an 800-square-meter site and a 5-meter clear height, integrating interactive experiences and diverse play functions. It not only meets the needs of young children for safe exploration but also provides challenging and social scenarios for school-age children. Through a macaron color scheme and a combination of characteristic facilities, it creates a children's paradise that is both interesting and educational, while ensuring a return on investment (ROI) with precise customer positioning.
Focus on Growth-Oriented Play Needs
Stratified design based on the physical and mental development characteristics of children aged 3-15: the younger age group focuses on sensory development and safe interaction, while the older age group emphasizes physical challenges and social collaboration, ensuring that children of all ages can obtain appropriate play experiences.
Macaron Color Aesthetics
Using macaron colors such as pink-blue, light yellow, mint green, and lavender as the main tones. This not only caters to children's preference for soft colors but also strengthens spatial guidance through color zoning, creating a fresh, lively, and textured visual atmosphere. Different from the gaudy style of traditional playgrounds, it enhances the recognition of parents.
Scenario-Based Immersive Experience
Integrating theme elements such as the nature into facility design, breaking the single play mode through projection interaction and role-playing, allowing children to achieve cognitive expansion and ability cultivation while playing, and increasing the revisit rate.
Shoe-Changing Area
As the first contact point at the entrance, it adopts a macaron color scheme of mint green, equipped with partitioned shoe cabinets and non-slip mats. Cartoon-shaped disinfection machines and seats are set up to facilitate parents in helping children change shoes and socks. At the same time, it naturally guides to the play area through color transition, improving process efficiency.
Artistic Climbing Area
The 5-meter-high artistic climbing wall features a blue background and macaron-colored rock points. An 11cm-thick cushion is laid on the bottom and professional safety officers are on hand. This wall not only exercises physical coordination but also cultivates courage and concentration.
Ocean Ball Projection Interactive Area
The oversized ball pool, featuring classic light pink and gray tones, incorporates an interactive projection system. When children throw ocean balls at the screen, dynamic effects such as waves and schools of fish are triggered, along with color diffusion and sound feedback. Parents can observe from outside, making this a great place for group play and interactive activities for children aged 3-10.
Role-Playing Area
The space is divided into three themed scenes: a supermarket, a kitchen, and a theater. Macaroon-colored, realistic props are used, including pale pink shelves, a white-gray stove, and a cloud-like stage. Children aged 3-6 can simulate social roles like shopping and cooking, while those aged 7-15 can organize small performances. Through role-playing, they can improve their language and social skills, extending their stay.
Sandpit Area
The sandpit is made of hinoki cypress wood and features a yellow border. Tools such as an hourglass, a small shovel, and a sand cart are also included. Interactive treasure hunts (such as burying small toy treasures) are also included to engage children aged 3-8 and cultivate their observation and patience. Rest benches for parents are provided at the edge of the sandpit to facilitate parental supervision.
Light Strip Speaker Slide
As one of the core facilities, it adopts a blue and pink macaron color combination, and the inside of the slide is embedded with LED light strips, which change colors with the rhythm of the slide.
All facilities comply with the national "Safety Standards for Children's Amusement Facilities" and are TUV-certified. The sand pool is regularly disinfected and screened for sharp particles, and the ball pool is equipped with a circulating ball washer for regular disinfection. The macaron-colored series is made of certified PVC. Electrical equipment (such as light strips and projectors) is sealed with anti-leakage protection to ensure the safety of children aged 3-15.
