I. Project Overview

Project Name: Indoor Soft Playground Design Case for Ages 3-15, Canada

Area: 370 square meters (sqm)

Ceiling Height: 6 meters

Designer: POKIDDO

Location: CanadaSoft Playground

II. Project Background & Market Insight

In Canada, the family entertainment market is mature, with parents placing a high value on children's physical development, social skills, and safe play experiences. There is consistent, strong demand for indoor play spaces that are "fun year-round, regardless of climate." Facilities catering to the full age range of 3 to 15 years, from toddlers to teens, are particularly sought after, as they meet the needs of family group outings. This project, designed by POKIDDO, leverages a well-proportioned 370 sqm space and a generous 6-meter ceiling height to fill this market gap. It creates a comprehensive commercial indoor playground that integrates safe, soft play, interactive activities, and casual dining. The project aligns perfectly with Canadian consumer values of "diversity, inclusivity, high-quality experiences, and a love for nature." Through scientific planning and localized operational strategies, it establishes a stable and profitable business model for investors, ensuring a strong Return on Investment (ROI).

III. Space Layout & Planning

Soft Playground Core Area

As the heart of the facility, this zone employs a "centralized layout with circulation flow separation" design to ensure safe play for different age groups without interference. Five key structures—a spiral slide, a turbo tunnel slide, a ball pit, a soft play obstacle course, and a soft climbing wall—are arranged around a central area, creating an engaging loop of "exploration, challenge, and interaction." This maximizes both space utilization and play fluency.

Rainbow Net Zone

Capitalizing on the full 6-meter height, this area features a massive, multi-level rainbow rope net structure. Made from high-tensile, eco-friendly ropes in vibrant red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple colors, it embodies the "rainbow" theme. Surrounded by safety netting, it ensures security while allowing clear sightlines for parents, quickly becoming the facility's iconic photo spot.

Dining Area

Located on the south side with an "open layout," this area balances spatial distribution with an airy feel. Long tables accommodate parents relaxing and dining and can be configured for birthday parties during holidays. It addresses the dual parent needs of "supervision and relaxation," effectively extending the average family visit duration.

IV. Featured Play Facilities & Highlights

Soft Playground Core Facilities

Spiral Slide: An enclosed, helical slide with a pink plastic exterior, suitable for ages 3-10. Its interior includes speed-control features, and it exits onto a 5cm thick soft landing mat for safety.

Turbo Tunnel Slide: A high-thrill slide with a near-vertical drop, reaching a height of 4.5 meters. Designed for teens aged 8-15, its pink structure delivers a strong sense of weightlessness. An extended run-out zone at the bottom effectively absorbs momentum. Enclosed by safety barriers, it becomes the park's "thrill centerpiece."

Ball Pit: A 50 sqm pit filled with pink, white, and grey balls. Soft, 0.6-meter high borders allow easy parent supervision, and a non-slip soft mat lines the bottom.

Soft Play Obstacle Course: Constructed from eco-friendly soft foam blocks, this area features hurdles, crawl tunnels, balance bridges, and climbing slopes for children aged 3-12. The varied obstacles let children choose their own paths, developing coordination and spatial judgment. Parents can join in, enhancing parent-child interaction.

Soft Climbing Wall: A vertical climbing surface with soft foam holds in rounded shapes (circles, squares) and no sharp edges. A 5cm thick crash mat at the base ensures safe landings, allowing children to build courage and strength without risk.

Rainbow Net Zone

This structure fully utilizes the 6-meter height, featuring a central tower for climbing. The nets are made from anti-slip, wear-resistant material with reinforced knots, supporting up to 150kg for safety. Children enjoy a panoramic view of the playground while climbing, experiencing the joy of aerial exploration and honing their balance and endurance.

Dining Area

The cafe offers light meals meeting Canadian health standards (e.g., whole-wheat sandwiches, fruit salads, organic juices, hot chocolate), using fresh local ingredients. Some items are available in child-sized portions with branded tableware. Tables and chairs have rounded, soft-padded corners for safety. Walls adorned with Canadian landscape photography create a comfortable ambiance.

V. Design Highlights

Ultimate Safety Assurance

All equipment complies with international (TUV) safety standards. Soft materials are non-toxic and fire-retardant. The impact absorption of slides and trampolines is certified. Components like balls and climbing holds have no small, detachable parts, eliminating choking hazards. Anti-slip soft flooring covers all play areas, and all corners are rounded, comprehensively ensuring child safety and meeting the core Canadian family demand for "safety first."

High-Efficiency Space Utilization

The 370 sqm layout efficiently integrates "Play + Dine + Relax" functions, achieving 93% space utilization. The 6-meter height is exploited for the Rainbow Net Zone, expanding play area vertically. The core play area uses a compact layout to minimize wasted circulation space. The dining and play zones are distinct yet connected, ensuring a great play experience while catering to parent needs, achieving the "small footprint, big impact" design goal.

VI. ROI Analysis & Profit Strategy

Cost Control

Construction: Sourcing commercial indoor playground equipment directly from the POKIDDO factory ensures high cost-effectiveness. Durable materials for soft play and nets reduce long-term replacement frequency.

Revenue Streams

Admission: A tiered ticketing system (Single Visit, Family Pass, Annual Membership) caters to Canadian family spending habits.

F&B: Pricing is set based on competitive analysis. Driven by playground footfall, F&B is projected to contribute 30-35% of total revenue.

Ancillary Revenue: Sales of merchandise (e.g., branded plush toys, anti-slip socks), birthday party packages (customized decoration and catering), and partnerships for corporate events and school outings provide significant additional income.
