The POKIDDO Sports Park is an extremely attractive franchise project. It is located in Yuedong Chenxing Sports Paradise, No. 49 Beichen Avenue, Beichen District, Tianjin. With a vast area of 4,000 square meters and a ceiling height ranging from 8 to 9 meters, it provides ample space and height conditions for the development of various sports and amusement equipments, laying a solid foundation for creating a high quality sports and amusement venue.
01 Planning
The planning of the venue plays a crucial role in determining 70% of the design quality. At Pokiddo, we have always adhered to the concept that "no operation, no design." Therefore, before embarking on the venue planning process, we conduct meticulous investigations and thoughtful considerations.
Firstly, we take into account the surrounding environment of the project site. Then, we analyze the spatial attributes of the site itself. The location for the Tianjin Pokiddo Sports Park is an old factory building. This space offers regular dimensions and its height fully meets the floor height requirements for a comprehensive sports venue. However, one drawback is the presence of numerous columns and cross braces within the site. As such, addressing and mitigating the impact of these columns and cross braces becomes our key focus and challenge during the design phase.By carefully considering these factors, we aim to create a functional and visually appealing venue that not only meets operational needs but also provides an enjoyable experience for visitors.
After thorough communication with the investors to clearly define the target customer group for the venue and the positioning of the amusement park, our design team proceeded directly to on-site discussions and collaborative creation. Considering factors such as revenue generation, cost budgeting, and customer experience, we meticulously divided the functional areas, established primary and secondary circulation routes, and carefully selected equipment.Simultaneously, we successfully addressed the challenge posed by numerous columns within the venue. This comprehensive approach ensured that every aspect of the design was thoughtfully considered, resulting in a well-planned and efficient layout that maximizes both operational efficiency and visitor satisfaction.
We meticulously divided the venue into various functional areas, including a comprehensive service area, an energetic trampoline area, a rope course adventure area, a rock climbing area, a super slide space, an interactive sports space, and a parent-child carnival area (comprising an arena castle, slides, a giant ball pit, a building block kingdom, and a treasure-seeking sandpit). Additionally, we included a multifunctional activity area along with supporting dining and rest zones. In addressing the issue of numerous columns within the venue, our innovative design not only minimized their visual impact but also cleverly utilized them to reduce construction costs. This strategic approach ensured that every aspect of the venue was thoughtfully planned and efficiently executed, resulting in a well-balanced layout that maximizes both operational efficiency and visitor satisfaction.
Rest Zones： We made use of the four densest columns in the venue to build two resting stands respectively, one in the east and one in the west. This not only saved the cost of constructing the second floor, but also enabled people on the east and west resting stands to have a view of every project in the entire venue, presenting an excellent visual effect.
Castle Corridor： By making use of the columns in the venue, we designed a corridor that serves both the functions of play and viewing. It is connected to the arena castle, creating a major highlight within the venue.
Climbing Combination：The bouldering and artistic climbing are embedded between the columns. As a whole, this weakens the visual impact of the columns and presents a very grand and impressive look.
Rope Course: The course platforms and obstacle modules are directly fixed on the columns in the venue.
One very important principle in the design of an indoor amusement park is that the projects at the entrance must be able to catch the customers' attention. The combination of rope course, a large slide, and rock climbing undoubtedly meets this requirement.
02 Design Style
The Tianjin Pokiddo franchise store has adopted a color scheme dominated by deep purple and bright blue, complemented by vibrant orange and yellow hues. This design choice creates an atmosphere that is both dynamic and inviting.Deep purple, reminiscent of distant stars in the night sky, adds a touch of mystery and depth to the space, evoking a sense of boundless imagination and exploration. Bright blue, symbolizing clear skies and vast oceans, brings freshness and vitality to the venue, making the overall ambiance more vivid and layered. The addition of orange and yellow further enhances the lively atmosphere, infusing the space with warmth and energy. These colors not only highlight key areas but also create a visually engaging environment for visitors.
Overall, this color combination successfully transforms the venue into a place where customers can experience both tranquility and excitement, leaving a lasting impression.
03 Rendering
For the Tianjin Pokiddo Park, in addition to the equipment planning conducted by our team, the overall decorative environment design and construction drawings are also meticulously planned and designed by our brand team. In terms of environmental design, our philosophy centers on emphasizing decoration over heavy-handed renovations, aiming to create an atmosphere through colors and material shapes.
The shapes we employ are simple yet effective, facilitating swift construction processes. The materials chosen are straightforward, ensuring that costs remain manageable while still achieving a visually appealing result. This approach not only streamlines the construction process but also allows for greater flexibility in creating a vibrant and inviting space that aligns with the brand's vision and customer expectations.
04 Engineering Construction
From the entry of the Pokiddo construction team to the successful completion and delivery of the project, a total of 45 days were meticulously planned and executed. Throughout this period, the equipment installation team, engineering construction team, and environmental decoration team worked either concurrently or in a staggered schedule, ensuring efficient progress according to daily task plans.
This collaborative effort was instrumental in guaranteeing that the project opened on time without compromising quality or safety standards. The Pokiddo engineering quality team maintained constant supervision throughout the entire process, adhering strictly to industry safety regulations while conducting thorough checks and verifications of every detail related to equipment installation. Furthermore, the project's delivery and acceptance underwent rigorous inspections led by the Chief Experience Officer, affectionately known as "Mr.Bao," who personally oversaw each aspect of the work. These stringent measures were implemented with the sole purpose of upholding product excellence and ensuring a secure environment for visitors within the amusement park.
